Of course, to build high-traffic website you need many incoming links. What should novice blogger do? Write content and get a link from other blog.
Two days ago I talked to my friend. He is proactive person and always has something to share. Recently he started his first worldcup2010blog.com blog. He is not a professional, but he is definitely more experienced than me. Good opportunity to ask for some blogging tips and the first backlink.
Tell me, why did you decide to start a blog? What is the main reason?
So, the main reason why I have started my blog is SEO. I heart about that many times but I haven’t got time for this. Now I have great opportunity to do that!
Why the World Cup blog?
There a lot of information about soccer in the net. People write about all events but I decided that I should provide source of the information where people could get news, videos, images, opinions and so on about the 2010 World Cup, starting from qualifiers and finishing with final matches. I have two years for gathering all that information and make source qualitative.
So, I understand that you created your blog to learn SEO?
Yes, but I am having fun. And it is important. If I don’t like anything, I don’t do it.
Are you willing to become a problogger?
Definitely not. This experience is useful for my work.
Tell me about results … Are you successful blogger?
You mean visitors? I got record number of visitors on second day. (Smiling)
How many?
22. (Laughing) It was qualification first match day. Got first ads click. What motivation! Eighteen days are gone, my blog has small but stable traffic. It keeps growing.
Do you have a plan? I mean do you know what will you do tomorrow, day after tomorrow?
I have long-term link generating strategy. But I’m not going to speak about it. Not this time.
OK. How do you think, what is most important in blogging?
Quality information.
What do you mean?
The information you and your visitors like to read.
Unique content for target audience?
Not really. It doesn’t have to be unique. Buy two newspapers. I guarantee that you find there two similar articles. Information is not unique, but people buy them. It’s just a different point of view.
I see. Are you afraid of competition?
I do. Who doesn’t?
What can you advise novice bloggers?
Like you and me? (Smiling) Take it seriously or don’t do it.
