Buy My Dump! - quick money making idea exposed

Looking for apartments? Take a look at this one.

How do you feel? Disgusting, isn’t it? Are you going to send a link to someone? Then guys achieved their goal of making the high-traffic website.

Why? Because they make money from this website.

  1. Take a look at AdSense. Three blocks on one page. Maximum that Google allows.
  2. They installed StatCounter (view page source).  This tool allows you to monitor site traffic in real-time.
  3. They have many backlinks pointing to their site (use one of the backlink analyzers).

These guys are genius! Just imagine how much money they’ve already earned from AdSense. Great quick money making idea.

Week 1 summary

What I’ve learnt so far:

Search engines

  1. Googlebot doesn’t crawl new websites frequently. One week has passed from last visit. I need more incoming links and content.
  2. Sitemap doesn’t reduce time between Googlebot visits.
  3. MSN crawler is faster than Yahoo crawler :) I have submitted my blog to MSN later than to Yahoo.
  4. Google can change index without crawling blog. Some pages are missing from index.

Social networks, bookmarking, catalogs

  1. Delicious is useless unless you build your own network. No visits.
  2. Digg can be effectively used for link building.
  3. Blogcatalog should be used by bloggers.

Other

  1. Lack of free keyword tools.

No salary increase for you? Start your blog.

The annual performance evaluation is the event that most people wait. It is important financial milestone in our life. I got used to it. But my employer says that I won’t receive salary increase this year. “Economy is in a recession now.” What a surprise! It seems to me that I underestimated the impact of the financial crisis!

Should I find another job? Nobody guarantees that next employer will keep promises. They always offer you the excellent compensation package with annual reviews. But it’s not gonna work. I’d better put more effort into blogging. And see why.

According to the Technorati State of the Blogosphere / 2008 report, the average annual revenue is more than $6,000 (median $200). It does motivate me. Maybe not enough to impress you? Then what stops you from starting several blogs simultaneously? Don’t tell me that you don’t have time for it. More than a half of bloggers spend less than 5 hours weekly blogging. Quit watching TV or playing video games and you’ll find time. Turn your wasted time into profit.

I have to admit that I have already earned some money from my blog. I published three posts and one page only, but it already brings money. I know that some people who don’t have a blog yet, can earn much more than me. They simply don’t take it seriously. But if you never try, you will never know.
